Abbey Searing
Marketing Intern (ROC)
"I’m very excited to join the FieldEdge family at Coolfront this summer as a marketing intern and am enthusiastic to put my skills to work. I just finished my sophomore year at The University of Alabama as a student of the Culverhouse of Commerce, with plans on pursuing a degree in marketing with a minor in advertising. I had the opportunity to experience a marketing internship last summer and am eager to apply my skills at this company.
In my free time, I enjoy going to football games and cheering on the tide (Roll Tide!). I also, enjoy spending time with friends and taking my dog Rosie on hikes while I’m home from college. During the summer I love going to the lake enjoying lots of boat rides and relaxing by the water”.

"I am joining FieldEdge as an SDR and I'm so excited to begin my first career with such an awesome company! I recently graduated from Auburn University with a Major in Public Relations and a Minor in Marketing. I have a passion for people and I love to chat, so I spent my senior year focusing on sales, which I believed encompassed those ideals.
When I'm not working, you can typically find me somewhere outdoors or spending time with friends. I'm always looking to try new things. Being new to the Atlanta area, I have so many places to explore! I am a music fanatic, especially with live music, and try my best to go to as many concerts as I can. I'm super excited to get to know all of y'all and look forward to a new adventure with FieldEdge!"
Chase Smedley
Sales Development Rep (GA)
"I am incredibly pumped to join the FieldEdge team as an incoming SDR! This will be my first full-time job and I could not be happier with the opportunity to begin my career at company with such a proven track record of success. I just graduated with degree in Marketing from the University of Georgia. Go Dawgs!
During my free time you will most likely catch me riding my mountain bike (I just learned to ride with no hands!!) or relaxing at the lake. I am an avid sports fan and am looking forward to getting involved in as many rec leagues as possible. I also love to travel! During the summer of 2017, I had the unforgettable experience of taking a road trip from Atlanta to California and back. I have still yet to leave the U.S., but I plan to change that in the near future. I can't wait to meet my new coworkers and get started with the FieldEdge team!"
MacKenzie Culkin
Sales Development Rep (GA)
"I am beyond excited to be joining the FieldEdge team! I come from a background in Customer Service and Management and am currently pursuing a degree in Professional Sales from Kennesaw State University. I have spent the past two years running the tasting room of a brewery in Kennesaw called Dry County!
In my free time, I like to attend as many concerts and music festivals as I possibly can, hike to waterfalls with my dog, Riley, and see what other kinds of harmless trouble I can get into with my friends and family! I'm a huge movie nerd and can't help but quote dumb lines from Step Brothers and Dodgeball in everyday conversation… so sorry in advance!"
Kayla Ivie
Sales Development Rep (GA)
"Hello! My name is Kayla Ivie. I have a B.S. in Biology with a minor in Chemistry from Georgia Southern University. I have been running my family's franchises for the past 7 years, Great American Cookies, Pretzel Maker, and Marble Slab Creamery. When I'm not working, I enjoy outdoor activities and anything that gets my adrenaline going. Sky diving, white water rafting, skiing, caving & any motor sports for example. I also enjoy cooking, traveling, gardening, reading and spending time with my dog."

Due to input received in the roundtable discussions we are combining product management for Coolfront and FieldEdge to deliver an aligned portfolio product & market strategy that is focused on the customer versus any single product. As previously announced, Pete Fornieri will lead this combined product management organization as VP of Product. Pete will continue to report to Scott Miggo as Scott’s role expands to Chief Product & Technology Officer. The existing FieldEdge product management team, led by Ty Allen, will report to Pete. Please join me in congratulating Pete and Scott in their expanded role.
Thanks again for your input in the roundtable table meetings. I can’t promise that everything you asked for will be done; however, I do assure you that we’re taking everything into consideration with the goal of doing what’s right for the customer, the business and our employees.
Congratulations to Ashley for her promotion to Client Implementation Consultant!
Ashley has been a valued team member of the Sales Development team for the last 10 months.
Congratulations to Mark for his promotion to Manager of Revenue Operations!
Mark has been a crucial member of the operations team for the past year.
Congratulations to Casey for her promotion to Sales Engineer Team Lead!
Casey has been with FE for 2 years now and has worked her way up to Sales Team Lead.
Welcome to “Voice of the CoolEdger”, a monthly article in W@CE news. The input you provided in the Employee survey and town-halls centered around Product, Employee Onboarding, Career Pathing, Employee Recognition and Culture. This column will provide regular updates in each area.
You mentioned the need to have a customer focused product roadmap. There’s a lot going on in this area. For example, we invested significant dollars to understand if the product is delivering on our integrated payments value proposition. Although we got good news from the research (net promoter score for customers solely using Clearent for payment processing is +45), we also learned of many improvement areas. We’ve created a task force which includes a customer payment advisory group to help identify and address issues. If you have ideas on how to improve our integrated payments experience for any of our products (FieldEdge, Coolfront or ESC), please contact me.
It’s clear that transparent career pathing is critical to you. A good career path program starts with clear job descriptions with defined knowledge, skills and abilities that demonstrate what is needed to move vertically or horizontally in the organization. This work has been completed for FieldEdge Support and is underway for FE and CF engineering and implementation teams. More to come on this soon.
I’ll continue to update you on progress as we continue to address issues you raised. In the interim, keep sending your input via e-mail or just stopping by. I’ll be scheduling more round-table discussions in late June to ensure a continuous practice of receiving feedback across all groups.

FieldEdge:
May was a strong month for the FieldEdge Sales and Business Development teams, producing a record breaking FieldEdge New Logo Bookings performance at $687,840 ARR across 71 deals. The month was driven by 129 Inbound demos booked (SQLs), 262 Outbound SQLs and record breaking assists from the Sales Engineer team of $257,600 in Managed Trials and Workflow Analysis closes. The Channel Sales team also had a great month generating $46,000 in closed business from referral partners helping to drive the result.
Overall, all teams performed well at $737,940 Total FieldEdge Bookings, but that left us $50,000 short of target, which we are working hard to make up in June. To help to drive that, there are exciting things happening across the function in June from on-site SDR sales training to an on-site all hands Business Development/Affiliate Managers meeting with the FieldEdge and Coolfront teams to discuss a unified message and strategy in the Distributor channel.
Coolfront:
We finished may with another month of growth and strong performance. May EOM results were: 167% for booked revenue overall, 145% YOY growth. We’ve seen a continued success and lead flow averaging 105 new mobile trial sign ups per month, due to marketing and increase with google ads, affiliates, and lead sharing.
We’ve made internal changes to continue to provide our customers with the best possible service by segmenting out our team for both sales and support. We expect increased efficiency with working leads down funnel along with post sale implementation, ie synergy proofs, Coolfront mobile and agreement post live check ins. For this month and upcoming we look to continue to improve our performance along to further enhance our processes around lead sharing and synergy.
FieldEdge:
We can’t downplay or minimize the challenges our customers have experienced using FieldEdge over the past 3-4 weeks. Thank you for everyone’s efforts. We know that all teams have worked and continue to work hard to instill confidence with our customers and to help mitigate any customers leaving us. To this end, Scott and Jerome hosted a webinar with our customers on Thursday, June 13th to discuss this. If you missed it, here’s a link to the recording: click here
Coolfront:
For those who aren’t familiar with our Coolfront Mobile app, it’s a usage-based model. We get $1.85 every time a customer creates a Work Order (AKA invoice/job/service ticket) in our app. That’s why it’s imperative to keep customers happy and using. If they don’t use, we don’t earn. I’m happy to say that in May 2019 we had a record number of companies actively using the app... 1326! Most these are small contractors, meaning under 7 trucks on the road. 3-5 trucks is our “sweet spot” so to speak. We have the right blend of affordability and functionality to meet their needs. The good news is if they outgrow Coolfront’s capabilities we can now promote the FieldEdge platform to get the higher level of functionality they require. It’s a great customer-for-life story we can all be proud to tell.
Rock on CoolEdgers!
FieldEdge:
It’s an exciting time at FieldEdge. A cross functional team from Customer Support, Data, Customer Success, Product, QA and Engineering from both FieldEdge and Coolfront created a 6-month roadmap for back half of 2019. The main objective for the next 6-months is to focus on improving the core product and making the associated workflows more customer friendly.
We are excited that in June and July the Product team will host a Quarterly Product Review (QPR). You will get a chance to meet all the product managers and have them walk you through the roadmap for each of their areas of focus.
Coolfront:
We want to highlight some "in progress" initiatives, namely, the buildout of a brand new infrastructure and user interface to support a subscription based pricing model. Since its inception in 2012, Coolfront has been a usage-based model. Smaller contractors feel that with Coolfront's usage model, "the price is right" as they only buy what they need to use. While this model works well, we also recognize the need to also have a subscription based model. We've invested and continue to invest an enormous amount of effort to building out and supporting integrations (e.g. Quickbooks , Google Calendar, Dropbox, etc...).
Our first foray into our new subscription based model is to monetize our Google Calendar and Quickbooks add-ons as "paid add-ons" where users will subscribe for these services. Once we have the infrastructure and functionality of this system ready, we plan on building this out more and offering subscriptions for the general usage of the Coolfront system. This new model will ultimately help Coolfront continue to grow revenue and will also serve our customers well. Stay tuned for updates on this new product feature release!
The new Travel card and Purchasing card programs have been rolled out. Please make sure you review the T&E Policy and related spreadsheet that is required. Frequent travelers will receive their cards in the next few days. By complying with our policies and procedures, you help make our back office more efficient.
The Finance Team is working on preparing for the quarterly forecast and board meeting. If you have any changes to projections of revenue or expense, please let your manager know.
Please be conscientious of costs and help us meet our EBITDA projections by saving on expenses when possible.

In the past three months, Delvis and Raymond automated parts of the testing / QA process- from 40 hours of manual work to 10 minutes. This allows us to do more testing, report issues back quicker to development and to complete testing in less time allowing our releases to go into EA sooner.

As some of you know, I am a founding member of Eight 4 World Hope (E4WH), a not for profit organization that builds and improves schools in the poorest areas of Jamaica. Over Memorial Day week we took a group of 10 on our annual mission trip to dedicate our 7th project - a complete rebuild of Alexander Basic School in Old Harbour. The most fun part of the trip was playing with the children. Among other things, we fed breakfast to 100+ people in a homeless shelter, visited a home for abused and orphaned girls, met with the elderly and disabled at the Golden Age Home. The most difficult and also most rewarding visit was spending several hours interacting with the kids at a home for severely disabled children.
We also visited Marie Cole Memorial Primary School in St. Elizabeth. The school is in one of the poorest communities - 85% of the children qualify for the PATH program, which provides a few meals a week. To qualify for PATH, among other hardships, the child’s home can not have running water or a refrigerator. Currently, at Marie Cole, 223 students sit two to three at a desk in over crowded classrooms that are separated by chalkboards. E4WH is currently raising funds to add a three classroom building - we need just under $15,000 to reach our goal of $60,400. The new rooms will allow the students to learn in a more comfortable setting. As we know, the only way out of this poverty is through education.
If you are interested in learning more about Eight 4 World Hope or would like to help us reach our financial goal, check out our website at http://eight4worldhope.org/

Last week here in Rochester the Senior PGA hobbled into town and I cashed in on my unlimited vacation to head over to Oak Hill Country Club with my father and brother to take in some golf. This was the 4th or 5th PGA tournament I’ve been to over the years as the PGA and Senior PGA alternate every few years or so. The Ryder Cup also played here back in 1995 a year after I graduated from college (I probably had no money for a ticket).
The Seniors aren’t quite as fun as the regular PGA Championship but there are quite a few players everyone would recognize. Jeff Sluman grew up here so it’s always good to see him. Vijay Singh was here. And then there’s John Daly. The man, the myth, the legend.
Johnny was fresh off another debacle at the PGA Championship where he missed the cut and caught some flack from his buddy Tiger about riding in a golf cart. Like most weekend warriors I love John Daly. What’s not to like? Yeah, he has a few problems but man he can crush that little white ball. He lives his life like his mantra: Grip It and Rip It.
